In honour of the passing of Fo Guang Shan founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun, on 5 February 2023 at the age of 97, we have created this condolence page for our community to share their messages.
The Venerable Master has been a dedicated and inspirational leader in the Buddhist community. Throughout his life, he worked towards propagating Humanistic Buddhism and promoting peace, education, love and compassion across the world. His legacy continues to inspire millions to create a positive impact.
With a mind as vast and boundless as emptiness,
A body like an unbound boat that sails the ocean of Dharma.
What merit and virtue have I accomplished in this lifetime?
Peace and happiness shine upon the five continents.

2023年2月5日，佛光山开山 上星下云大师，于庄严念佛声中，圆寂于佛光山传灯楼开山寮，享耆寿97岁。澳洲星云大师教育基金会特设立此网页，供大众追思缅怀。
大师一生弘扬人间佛教、建设佛光净土、利益群生。综观大师一生，秉持佛陀教法，提倡 “以文化弘扬佛法，以教育培养人才”，为教界树立典范，为世间带来光明。大师的慈心悲愿亦启发众人追随其脚步，为增进人类福祉做出贡献。

May the Masters spirit rest peacefully
A sad day for humanity. He worked tirelessly to make beautiful places around the world and Buddhism accessible.
May he ever dwell in the pure land.
May his new journey be a prosperous as his last one. He was and still will be an influence on my life..
A wonderful influence on so many , he will be missed and I am grateful for his part in my path. Rest in peace. Respect
This is heart breaking, he was such an inspiration to many Buddhists around the world, his life os his legacy and it will live on with his students and his teachings
Remembering with hearts of appreciation our most gracious and diligent Grand Master Hsing Yun. May our practice, good deeds and loving-kindness to one another create the cause and condition for the great Masters to return to our Saha world again.
Just as the soft rains fill the streams,
Pour into the rivers and join together in the oceans,
So may the power of every moment of your goodness
Flow forth to awaken and heal all beings,
Those here now, those gone before, those yet to come.
By the power of every moment of your goodness
May your heart’s wishes be soon fulfilled
As completely shining as the bright full moon,
As magically as by a wish-fulfilling gem.
By the power of every moment of your goodness
May all dangers be averted and all disease be gone.
May no obstacle come across your way.

Prayer for peace
May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid, and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power and may people think of befriending one another.
May those who find themselves in trackless, fearful wildernesses—the children, the aged, the unprotected—be guarded by beneficent celestials, and may they swiftly attain Buddhahood.
感恩大师让我接触到佛法，不断深入经藏。智慧如法水不断滋润我的心田。
愿大师早日乘愿再来利益人天。
