In honour of the passing of Fo Guang Shan founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun, on 5 February 2023 at the age of 97, we have created this condolence page for our community to share their messages.
The Venerable Master has been a dedicated and inspirational leader in the Buddhist community. Throughout his life, he worked towards propagating Humanistic Buddhism and promoting peace, education, love and compassion across the world. His legacy continues to inspire millions to create a positive impact.
With a mind as vast and boundless as emptiness,
A body like an unbound boat that sails the ocean of Dharma.
What merit and virtue have I accomplished in this lifetime?
Peace and happiness shine upon the five continents.

2023年2月5日，佛光山开山 上星下云大师，于庄严念佛声中，圆寂于佛光山传灯楼开山寮，享耆寿97岁。澳洲星云大师教育基金会特设立此网页，供大众追思缅怀。
大师一生弘扬人间佛教、建设佛光净土、利益群生。综观大师一生，秉持佛陀教法，提倡 “以文化弘扬佛法，以教育培养人才”，为教界树立典范，为世间带来光明。大师的慈心悲愿亦启发众人追随其脚步，为增进人类福祉做出贡献。
心怀度众慈悲愿，身似法海不系舟；
问我一生何所求，平安幸福照五洲。

星曜世出世間現，
雲常飄逸逍遙顯，
大如摩訶心發願，
師承佛陀本懷堅，
永恆住世度眾緣，
遠洋弘法遍世天，
長樂清淨自性見，
存久法脈遍三千。
A star that appears in the mundane and supramundane worlds shining,
Clouds that always appear sublime and carefree,
Immense as Maha is his mind’s vow,
His teacher is definitely Sakyamuni Buddha’s original intent,
He is destined to abide in the world forever to save all beings,
Across the oceans to propagate the Dharma throughout the world,
With Dharma joy and a pure mind he sees the intrinsic nature,
To preserve the Dharma lineage across the trichiliocosm.
佛在世时我沉沦，
佛灭度后我出生。
忏悔此生多业障，
不见如来金色身！
祁愿大师
早日乘愿再来，普度有情！
感谢您把人间佛教带来五大洲，在我迷茫的时候像－盏明灯照亮我。
我期许自己不忘初心铭记您的教诲。愿您早日乘愿回来渡有缘众生。
星云大师是唯一横跨两岸三地，能团结凝聚天下华人的高僧大德。
忆星雲大师，
星云大师，乘大愿而来，弘扬人间佛教，佛光普照众生无数，照亮无数众生光明之路，功德圆满，而今乘般若之舟离吾等而去，实属人间一大损失，悟等涕泪悲泣。
弟子谨记大师教诲，继大师＂三好、四给”来修炼人生早证菩提。望大师能驾慈航乘愿再来，普渡众生！
